GEORGE NEWS FLASH - Inspectors from the Garden Route SPCA in George discovered the beaten bodies of two dogs hanging from a tree in Thembalethu last week.
According to Frieda Jansen van Rensburg, Garden Route SPCA George manager, the foreman of a construction company working on a site in Silver Town, Thembalethu's Zone 7, called on Thursday afternoon at around 16:00 to report a brutal beating of a dog by an unidentified man on the opposite side of the construction site.
Inspectors Andrè Baartman and Gerda Reynders immediately rushed to the scene to investigate, where, upon their arrival, they were shocked to discover two dogs hanging from a tree.
"The two male dogs were already dead when they found them," said a shocked Van Rensburg. One of the dogs had an open head wound and were strung up with, what Van Rensburg describes as, nylon "Cape Pine" rope.
An eyewitness claimed that the culprit is an elderly black man wearing blue denim jeans and a white T-shirt.
