Oubaai Golf Resort’s retail centre opening on Friday was a hit. A larger than expected crowd turned up to view the new array of shops there to serve the Herolds Bay community and holidaymakers from all over the Garden Route.
A dozen shops including a jeweller, art shop, clothing, wine, florist, ATM and laundry shop form part of The Village Market at Oubaai.
At the preview evening, Hyatt Regency hotel’s Master Chef, Stefano Bonafe, was on hand at the Waterside Bar and Grill to dish up a fabulous array of dishes which included juicy shrimps, ocean fresh oysters, parma ham and chocolate mousse with strawberries.
Sophisticated music floated over the lake and the shops, which all open onto a village square where a combination of subdued lighting and landscaped areas create a fabulous atmosphere.
Live entertainment by Henry du Plooy and his band was offered in an open air theatre overlooking the water.
If Friday’s vibe is anything to go by, Georgians can expect magical evenings under the starry summer skies.
