Last week Friday the 24 teams played on the artificial turf of the first world FNB Stadium in Lawaaikamp. This quality playing field is a legacy of the 2010 Soccer World Cup held in South Africa.
During the weekend the tournament moved to the third world Thembalethu Stadium where 40% of the playing field is sand with no grass.
There are no touchline markings to denote when the ball is out of play, nor is the penalty box demarcated and the goal netting is virtually nonexistent. With no halfway line the offside rule is difficult to judge.
The finals of the tournament will be played at the FNB Lawaaikamp Stadium on Saturday at 11:00. The winning team will receive a soccer kit and the runner-up a voucher from the sponsor Top Gear Sports Shop in Hibernia Street.
Ters Giliomee the owner of Top Gear added that at the closing ceremony scheduled for 10:00 there will be vouchers for the top goal scorer and the player of the tournament.
