GEORGE NEWS - In a glittering ceremony held at the Hilton Waldorf in London, Moontide Guest Lodge in Wilderness beat competitors from all over the world to be crowned Luxury Lodge of the Year in the Luxury Travel Guide (LTG) Awards late last year.
Owner Maureen Mansfield flew to London to attend the event, where she was one of 155 finalists across 31 categories.
The four runners-up in the Luxury Lodge category were: El Silencio Lodge & Spa, San Jose; Roc Heights Lodge, Gambia; Rhulani Safari Lodge, Madikwe, South Africa; and The Lodge Champery by Mrs Miggins, Switzerland.
"I am totally blown over. This was so unexpected," said a visibly moved Maureen.
