GEORGE NEWS - George gardeners who have interesting, beautifully laid out gardens with loads of colour and character and are willing to open them for public viewing on Saturday 11 November are asked to e-mail the organiser, Philda Benkenstein, at benkenstein@mweb.co.za or Pauline Lourens at pauline@groupeditors.co.za.
The George Open Gardens will be held on Saturday 11 November from 09:00 to 16:00 and a R50 ticket provides access to 10 stunning gardens but, as always, adding a few more to the list of gardens will add to the attraction.
Tickets will be sold prior to the event - from 1 November at the Badisa offices at 60 Victoria Street as well as at Fairview Homestead, 36 Stander Street.
The proceeds will go towards Badisa, a non-profit organisation that provides social services to families in need.
These open days are enjoyable social events during which gardeners share tips and, where in between touring the gardens, a visit to the Garden Route Botanical Garden and the Getafix Garden Café adds to the pleasure of the event.
