GEORGE NEWS - The spirit of self-employment among entrepreneurs and the development of small and medium enterprises were the focus of an entrepreneurship training programme for women and youngsters held in Uniondale last week.
The programme, presented by George Municipality, aims to encourage new venture establishment and expansion of existing businesses in the rural areas, and to instil entrepreneurial skills in potential entrepreneurs.
Project coordinator Rose Munro of the Economic Development Unit said the training is also a launching pad for young entrepreneurs who will take part in a bicycle business project that will be rolled out to communities in Uniondale and George.
Potential youth entrepreneurs were recently invited to submit business plans in this regard and those with viable business plans will be elected to take part in the project.
