GEORGE NEWS - RLR resident Doreen Harper celebrated her 98th birthday on 18 February and Stella Mason-Langford her 90th birthday on 3 March.
A special tea party was held in their honour on Wednesday 2 March. These wonderful ladies are an inspiration to all.
Stella moved to RLR in March 2004. Almost from the first she was co-opted onto the House Committee.
She had a turn at being chairperson of the committee and has worked tirelessly for RLR for the past 18 years. She is an expert knitter and sewer and has made countless articles for bazaars.
Doreen studied ballet, tap and modern dancing, and was principal dancer at the London Colosseum for 1 year and at the London Palladium for 1 year.
She taught ballet for 53 years, until the age of 82, when she retired to RLR. She still teaches Pilates once a week!
