GEORGE NEWS - A cyclist from Blanco, Jeremy Neethling (77), was killed in an accident involving two trucks on the R404 on Tuesday 22 March.
According to George police communications officer, Capt Alicéa Louw, the accident happened at about 15:05 when Neethling entered the R404 from the Cornerstone Lifestyle Centre in front of a truck passing by from the direction of the airport.
"The truck stopped and the cyclist passed him but allegedly hit the back wheel of another truck coming from the opposite direction. The cyclist was still conscious when emergency services arrived but unfortunately passed away in the George Provincial Hospital later that afternoon," Louw said.
