GEORGE NEWS - George is full of talented people, and Bernard Frost is one of them. Frost, who is an expert at sound design and post production in film, shot his latest collaboration, a short film named Megan, right here in George three weeks ago.
Megan, a three-minute film, is a story about a father and daughter. "I do sound design for film in my spare time, with the hope to go into audio post production full time," says Frost.
He says the name, Megan, stuck with him when they played around with a few options, and just happened to be the same as that of Megan Terblanche who was part of the project.
He wrote the script of the movie with the intention to enter it into one of the largest international film festivals, My Rode Reel 2020 (MRR).
He collaborated with the Du Toit brothers of Twin Oak films, DeWet and Rudolph. "I met Rudolph and DeWet during the planning phase of their movie, Tarzan Curse of the Mummy. This movie is awaiting approval from both national and international film festivals."

It was Frost's responsibility to see to the sound design, audio post production and music editing. "MRR 2020 was coming up and I pitched an idea for a short film to them. They agreed and we got to work." They also wanted to enter the film for the 2020 Garden Route Film Festival, but did not make the due date and will now enter in 2021.
Megan was in the post-production phase and would have been ready for submission for MRR 2020 before 7 October, which was the closing date for entries.
Frost says they could not have chosen a better location than George, which offers a range of different scenes. "And we only had an entry level camera and zero budget," he says. Frost took part in the Berlin International Sound Design contest in 2018, and made the top 15.
