GEORGE NEWS - The local Africa Day Festival 2021 is taking place this weekend from 28 to 30 May at Gwaiing beach outside Pacaltsdorp in George - an event not to be missed.
The 2021 theme of Africa Day, celebrated annually on 25 May, is "Arts, Culture and Heritage: levers for building the Africa we want".
The host of the local Africa Day Festival celebrations, Outenikwa-Stat House of RasTafari, has embraced this theme with the message "Uniting Africa, home and abroad, from Cape to Cairo, Madagascar to Morocco" and the festival honours Africa's resilience through art, music and culture.
Festivalgoers can expect many stalls, live music and poetry and arts. Various ticket, camping facility and stall holder options are available. Book now to avoid disappointment - the festival is around the corner!
Remember to take camping chairs and, if needed, other camping gear.
Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to. The festival is supported by the George Municipality and is a joint operation between the municipality, the department of Local Economic Development and the organising host, Outenikwa-Stat House of RasTafari.
