GEORGE NEWS - The nomination process for the 2023 George Business Chamber Business Awards closes at midnight tomorrow, Friday 3 November, and nominees then have until 08:00 this coming Monday, 6 November, to send their own motivations to the chamber for evaluation.

The four categories are:
- GBC Entrepreneur of the year – Businesses/Individuals who are creating new, sustainable opportunities and playing a positive part in the greater community of George.
- GBC Service Ambassador of the year – Businesses/Individuals renowned for providing and encouraging exceptional service. (Walk the talk)
- GBC Innovator of the year – Businesses/Individuals whose revolutionary new ideas/products are unique in their marketplace. (Game changers)
- GBC Business Leader of the year – The businessperson who has had a profound impact on the economy of George in the past year, showing not only great leadership abilities, but also exceptional growth and a positive contribution to the greater community of George.
Vote for GBC 2023 Business of the Year
The George Business Chamber has extended its support for the George Herald Best of George initiative by using it to determine the George Business Chamber Business of the Year 2023.
In order to be a Business of the Year finalist, enterprises had to emerge as a category winner in the Best of George awards. All the category winners will now compete for the most votes to come out tops as the very best of Best of George in order to scoop the GBC Business of the Year award.
The voting process is taking place on the George Chamber website, www.georgechamber.co.za, and voting closes on 20 November.
Just as with the Best of George voting, finalists are encouraged to enlist the support of their clientele, family and friends by casting their votes.
Gala event
The award winners will be announced during the GBC gala event at Bramble Hill International School's banquet hall, (formerly Tramonto) in Geelhoutboom on 24 November.
Tickets to this prestigious event are R500 each or R5 000 for a table of 10 and are available from info@georgechamber.co.za.
