GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - ‘Art Supply’ , which later evolved to become ‘The Little Art Shop’, was established in 1999 in the garage of Monica Vaccaro to supply much needed art materials to the local schools.
She later moved it to the George Museum and still supplied mainly schools, but also the general public, and became ‘The Little Art Shop’.
In late 2013 The Little Art Shop changed ownership to Cathy Fourie, previously an art teacher at Holy Cross Primary School for 13 years, and was moved to a small space inside Flowers 4U on the corner of Market and Hope street.
It started off in a very small space and then expanded about 4 times inside Flowers 4U until it burst out of its seams and moved, in September 2015, to its present location in Paddagat Shopping centre, George, where we are again bursting out of our seams!
What started out as a very small business has now become a very busy little business and we have increased our product range so that we appeal to artists, leisure painters, scholars, kids art, schools, crafters, scrapbookers and model-makers.
We still specialize in supplying many of the local schools, from Play school to High school, with their art supplies at special school prices. Schools can email us for more information to schoolartsupply@gmail.com.
