GEORGE NEWS - The Group Editors Best of George awards ceremony took place at the Protea Hotel King George on Thursday 11 September where the businesses voted by the public as the best in 162 categories were handed their winners' certificates.
Group Editors' group sales manager, Julinda Aucamp, said the annual awards is a celebration of the tenacity and passion of the local business sector.
"It is not always easy to be in business. It demands hard work, commitment and often late nights and early mornings. Yet you keep at it and always give the best of yourselves.
"What makes the Best of George Awards unique is that they are not decided by a panel or a committee, but by the people of George themselves.
"Every vote is a message of appreciation, loyalty and pride. When someone votes for your business or your service, it is an acknowledgment of the value that you add to our beautiful town."
Every certificate awarded stands as a symbol of trust and recognition from the community that the winner serves. Aucamp thanked the George community. "Without their nominations and votes, this project would not be possible."
