Update
WILDERNESS NEWS - George Municipality is working urgently to restore water supply to affected areas in Wilderness, Kleinkrantz and surrounding communities.
Steady progress has been made, with the Ebb & Flow Reservoir currently more than half full and continuing to recover.
Technical updates:
George road:
A complex pipe burst at the intersection of George Road and Leila’s Lane continues to receive focused attention. A municipal team, supported by an external contractor, is working to complete the repair. This fault is impacting supply to Wilderness Village and nearby areas.
Whites road:
A section of Whites Road remains without water. Teams have been scouring the line throughout the day to release air pockets, and this work remains a priority until normal flow is restored.
Kleinkrantz:
A pipe burst on the feeder line was identified earlier today. A third team is on site and continues with repairs.
Water trucks:
George Road: A tanker is stationed at Spar Wilderness Village.
Kleinkrantz: Three roaming tankers are in operation and will remain in the area until 22:00.
Discoloured water:
Residents may experience brown or discoloured water as supply returns. This is normal when systems are re-pressurised.
The municipality sincerely apologises for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience as teams work to stabilise the water network across all affected areas.
