GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality’s electrical teams continue to respond to several power outages affecting parts of George.
The Municipality is aware of the urgent need to restore the electricity supply and is doing everything possible to attend to the outages.
Teams are actively responding to all reported faults, with the assistance of appointed contractors, and residents are kindly requested to remain patient.
Power supply has been restored in the following areas:
- Airport Line
- Herold’s Bay
- Mooikloof
- Diepkloof
- Portions of Hansmoeskraal
- Gwaiing Sewerage Works
- Parts of Aspeling, Mitchell and Church Streets, as well as Bergsig
Repairs to the 66kV Glenwood line have been completed. The switching-on process is expected to take at least one hour. The estimated time of restoration (ETR) is approximately two hours.
Eskom has reported that a tree was found lying across the 66kV overhead line supplying Wilderness. A contractor is still busy clearing the line.
Teams continue to attend to low-voltage power outages across George.
There is currently no estimated time of restoration for the remaining affected areas.
