GEORGE NEWS - The George Junior City Council (JCC) is a representative forum for high school learners, promoting active citizenship, by representing the interests of High School leaders and learners.
The council consists of learners from Grade 10 and 11 who act as ambassadors for George Municipality on a voluntary basis.
The Recruit for JCC members for 2026 is open until 1 December. Application forms are avialable from JCC members at local high schools.
Eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Applicant must be a Grade 10 learner in 2026 and in good standing with the school.
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities and community involvement
- Must reside in the George Municipal area
Potential candidates will be required to undergo a panel interview as part of the selection process.
The decision of the interview panel will be final, and no appeals will be considered.
