GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality is committed to helping provide work opportunities for residents.
Through its Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), it is currently managing about 109 projects in alignment with the Integrated Grant and Business Plans, generating about 1 382 work opportunities for residents.
Of these, 43 projects are funded directly by the municipality, providing an estimated 711 work opportunities.
These efforts form part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to socio-economic development and reducing unemployment within the region.
To be considered for employment opportunities, residents are encouraged to ensure that they are registered on the EPWP database.
It is also vital that all applicants keep their personal and contact information up to date, as officials from the EPWP office and other service directorates may experience difficulties reaching candidates with outdated details.
