GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route Dam is currently at 99.20%, compared with 99.93% last week.

George received 1.4mm of rainfall over the past seven days, according to the latest dam and rainfall update.

Despite the slight decrease in the dam level, the Garden Route Dam remains close to full capacity.

Water demand remains above target

The current daily water demand in George is 37.1 million litres (ML) per day, compared with the municipality's target of 35ML per day.

This means daily consumption is currently 2.1ML above the target.

Residents are encouraged to continue using water responsibly to help maintain the town's water resources.

Haarlem Dam remains above capacity

The Haarlem Dam is currently at 100.71%, compared with 100.95% last week.

The dam received 2mm of rainfall over the past seven days.

Although the level has decreased slightly from the previous week's figure, Haarlem Dam remains above 100% capacity.

Residents urged to use water wisely

With the Garden Route Dam still close to full but daily demand above the target, responsible water use remains important.

Residents are encouraged to avoid unnecessary water consumption and continue with water-saving practices.
