York High march for women's rights
York High learner Danica Orange (15) initiated a fun walk in the neighbourhood for the whole school, in aid of Phambili, a local shelter for abused women and children. Spearheaded by Orange, a member of the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) and headboy Ludolph Pedro, all 900 plus Yorkies marched off at 12:00 in support of this cause. At R5 per learner, roughly R4 500 will be donated to the shelter.
