Seven Passes work to begin, Montagu Pass still waiting
With both the Montagu Pass and Seven Passes Road still closed, restoration work is slowly moving forward. A contractor has been appointed for repairs on the Seven Passes, with work expected to start in October and partial access only likely in 2026. The Montagu Pass, meanwhile, remains closed while approvals are being finalised, with construction still some way off. These images, taken recently in the Montagu Pass, show the current state of one of the region’s most historic routes.
