GEORGE - In spirit true to Ireland, members of the George Society of Arts and several guests enjoyed a splendid St Patrick’s Day last Wednesday at the Arts Theatre.
The fiddlers Pam Ross and Marliese Woodcock started the evening on a high note, with Steve Crafford and Dolf Louw following on the guitars.
Tap dancing, poetry reading, Irish jokes and several solo song items by various members created a jolly atmosphere.
The audience joined in the singing and were treated to green beer, a lovely stew and Irish coffees from The Rose Restaurant next door to the Arts Theatre.

Friends Bridget Robertson and Lee-Ann Sawers share an Irish coffee. This will probably be their last for a long time, since Bridget is moving to Cape Town next week.
