"The event provides a positive economic boost for everyone. Plett Rage has helped put Plett as a destination on the map. The Plett Rage brand is big business, and has become very attractive to sponsors, and the bigger the festival, the greater the return on investment to the town for years to come. Corporate sponsors see the value of event offerings with future opportunities, the students enjoy a wonderful experience in Plett which in turn creates a desire to return in the future. The event offers opportunities for locals to work - building venue sets, assisting with security, providing customer relations, taxi services, food offerings and so much more.
"Most locals are very excited about the opening of the Plett summer season, which starts with the Plett Rage event. The town begins to fill up, local businesses are benefitting with the new invigoration of guests and the students offer a refreshing and optimistic vibe in town, something we need in these post-pandemic times.
"Locals are well equipped to handle the students, Plettenberg Bay has been hosting students for 40+ years during this time of year – even before the formalisation of the Plett Rage brand.
"The Rage is about uniting so many like-minded, beautiful young adults under one incredible setting as a send-off for them, a special event for the future leaders and citizens of our country. The Plett Tourism Association encourages Plettonians to focus on the #oneplett philosophy and engage directly to understand and acknowledge facts before misrepresenting issues pertaining to our wonderful town and community."
