GEORGE NEWS - Six shows to go for the George Arts Theatre's end-of-the-year pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. 

For those who have not yet had the privilege to sink into a red theatre seat and relax with family and friends, go for gold and book a ticket.

Seven-year-old Joshua Burrows enjoyed his very first experience at the Arts Theatre last Wednesday night, with the opening of the show. Watching his face throughout the performance, only a few seats away, made one realise why theatre is so important. 

The interaction between the actors and the crowd was hilarious, and at times quite boisterous and bold. 

Cheeky comebacks from all sides - both the peanut gallery and the stage - provided much fun and laughter all around.

The yearly pantomime is a great opportunity for children to be part of a stage production.

The last few days of the show run from tonight, Wednesday 14 December until Saturday 17 December at 18:30, with a matinee on Saturday at 14:00.

An enthused guest had her moment on the opening night of the show, between Daisy the cow and Poison Ivy, performed by Erane van Zyl.
