BOWLS NEWS - The final round of the Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International Realty Summer Business League was held at the George Bowling Club on Thursday 19 March, with a few nail-biting games and some close finishes in both the cup and plate sections.
Team Hackers were the winners of the cup and the league champions on 68 points. FMZ/MTN, who played a superb game, was both the session winner for round six and runner-up in the cup section on 59 points (with +39 net).
In the plate event, Nashua George, who played consistently well throughout the league, finished in first position on 55 points, followed by the Old Mutual Green Rockets, who finished second on 51 points.
The prize-giving was held immediately after the games and included a delicious steak braai for all the players, which was thoroughly enjoyed.
Boet Gericke of Team Hackers also won the newly introduced Business League Jackpot.
