GEORGE NEWS - George Sport Shooting Club hosted the South African Hunter Field Target National Championship 2022. The George team did extremely well and Protea team member Walter van der Merwe will represent South Africa at the World Championship in Ravazd, Hungary from 22 to 24 July.
In the final classification of George shooters, Martél Jacobs earned second place in the PCP Open Class, while Elvin Stewart is the SA Champion in the Recoil Class.
In the u.18 Juniors class, Outeniqua High School learners took first and second place. The junior SA champion is Marissa de Jager and Johanellé Kotzé the runner-up, while Cronjé de Villiers of Mckinley Reid was in third place.

The u.13 junior SA champion is Walter Jnr van der Merwe of George South Primary School.
On behalf of the club, Ulrich de Jager voiced a huge thank you to their sponsors, Coastal Air Rifles, Wildman George and Bushill RSA.
Johanellé Kotzé was second in the u.18 junior class.
"Well done to the George team, hope our sport will grow even more in coming years," he said.
The club will host an open day on 27 April for all interested to see what Hunter Field Target is all about. It will take place at the George Sport Shooting Club.
