GEORGE NEWS - Hoekwil Primary once again proved why it's known as "the little school with a big heart" when its learners and staff marked Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day on Wednesday 25 March in support of one of their own.
The school turned green for the day, the pupils and teachers dressing in this awareness colour to stand alongside Grade Four learner Hayleigh de Villiers (10), who lives with cerebral palsy.
More than just a show of support, the initiative helped raise awareness and encouraged a deeper sense of inclusion across the school.
There was a warm, caring atmos-phere throughout the day, and the learners embraced the chance to learn more and show kindness in simple but meaningful ways.
For the staff, the moment was a reminder of what matters most. - Compiled by Michelle Pienaar
