SCHOOL NEWS - York High School has launched Fiction Alley, a vibrant new reading space in the library through which the learners may browse and unwind during breaks.
Designed with the charm of a New York-style bookshop, the cosy nook invites these Yorkies to escape into stories between classes.
The shelves are stocked with popular titles, including Twilight, The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, Shadow and Bone, Harry Potter, The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Inheritance Games and My Life with the Walter Boys.
Well-known authors such as Jenny Han, Kristin Hannah, Ali Novak and Malorie Blackman are already sparking excitement among their readers.
Fiction Alley is open Monday to Friday during first and second break, as well as after school, giving learners easy access to books throughout the day. Membership is available to all learners.
The school also welcomes donations of new or good-quality second-hand books, particularly young adult fiction, as the collection continues to grow. Send an email to [email protected]
