The men are facing a total of 109 charges related to corruption, racketeering and money laundering, involving about R1,6 million.
Lamoer handed himself over to police, along with three other top police officials, and two local businessmen, in April.
The men last appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court in June when the case was transferred to the High Court.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s Advocate Billy Downer is leading the State’s case against Lamoer and police brigadiers Darius van der Ross, Kolindren Govender and Logambal “Sharon” Govender, as well as Cape Town businessman Mohamed Saleem Dawjee and his son Mohamed Zameer Dawjee.
A trial date has been set down for October 5, but details were due to be finalised at the pre-trial conference on Friday.
According to the indictment, Lamoer and the three police officials received bribes totalling R1,6 million from the businessmen.
