The Swift and DZire feature a refreshed front bumper design as well as a new grille design. The Dzire also benefits from a set of newly designed headlights as well as a redesigned rear bumper. Suzuki has also introduced an array of new colour options for customers to choose from.
Inside, all GL models now gain Bluetooth connectivity as standard, while the rear bench seat of the Swift 1.2 is now split 60:40 for improved versatility. The DZire’s cockpit features a smarter, black-hued cloth upholstery.
To battle the high fuel price, Suzuki has improved efficiency and reduced fuel consumption of the Swift 1.2 and DZire models, which will be particularly good news for fuel-conscious customers. It has upgraded the engine management system, which allows for an improvement in efficiency, with reduced fuel consumption and lower CO2 exhaust emissions being the direct result. As before, both models are powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 62kW and a torque peak of 115Nm.
In the case of the Swift 1.2 however, the combined-cycle fuel consumption has been reduced from 5.7 litres/100km to 5.3 litres/100km for the manual transmission. The automatic version now achieves a consumption figure of 5.8 litres/100km, compared to the 6.3 litres/100km of the previous version.
The DZire shows similar gains, with the manual model’s consumption also dropping from 5.7 litres/100km to 5.2 litres/100km, while the auto version’s 5.9 litres/100km is also significantly more frugal than the previous version’s 6.3 litres/100km.
Here at Autodealer, we love it when a manufacturer is active and constantly looking at ways of improving their model line-ups. The fuel savings are rather substantial and the visual enhancements for both cars keeps them up-to-date as well as DZireable. (We just had to)!
