Now simply known as the New Generation MPV, the production version of the XM Concept shown at the same even last year mirrors the Dynamic Shield design language first seen on the Eclipse Cross, with thin LED headlights, oversized foglights and a large front air intake.
Apart from featuring seven seats, little else is known with the sole technical detail being that it will make use of a 1.5-litre petrol engine reportedly derived from the Asian market Mitsubishi Colt, which in that application develops 88 kW and 145 Nm of torque. Contraire to previous reports, the New Generation MPV will offer either a five-speed manual gearbox as standard or a optional four-speed automatic.
Production is expected to take place at Mitsubishi's Bekasi plant in West Java with the official reveal and indeed the name due at the showpiece in Jakarta from August 10-20.
