GEORGE NEWS - Mount Olives, a local non-profit service organisation, invites all the ladies of George (men also welcome) to a fund-raising women's symposium on Saturday 18 May where journalist and author Marecia Damons will be the main speaker.
Damons is co-author with Daniel Steyn of the book, The Thabo Bester Story: the Faceook rapist, the celebrity director and the escape from cell 35.
The title of her talk is 'Unmasking the illusion of online perception, the pitfalls and the negative impact of presenting an untrue version of ourselves online'.
Local psychologist Marlette le Roux will also give a talk to highlight the psychological impact that the abuse of social media can have.
