GEORGE NEWS - A motion of no confidence against the current GRSPCA committee will be tabled at Saturday's AGM at the George Museum.
According to information received by the George Herald, this motion has been requested by fifteen members of the society including four people who recently resigned from the committee.
According to Bruno MacDonald, GRSPCA spokesperson, the meeting will also include the election of management committee members as well as a talk by the manager, Salomé Bruyns.
He says since Bruyns was appointed in June she has reduced the SPCA's adoption fees to R600 per animal, which resulted in many more animals finding homes.
"We are delighted with the improvements that Salomé has made, and look forward to continue working with her. Please note that the meeting venue is the museum. All members are urged to attend. Please bring your membership card or proof of payment for membership. You can vote at the meeting if you have been a member for longer than three months. As always, we thank the people and businesses of George and beyond for their generous donations and support."
The meeting takes place at the George Museum on Saturday at 10:00.
