MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 51-year-old man accused of murder made his second appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Tuesday 10 February.
The accused allegedly shot two victims, both 35, killing one and wounding the other in his face.
The incident occurred at a residence in Adriaans Avenue, KwaNonqaba, in October. The KwaNonqaba Police Station's spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, told Mossel Bay Advertiser one of the victims had opened the door and saw a man approaching.
As he tried to close it again, the man began shooting, hitting him in the chest, while another shot struck the second victim in his face.
The suspect fled the scene and the two victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, but the first victim was declared dead shortly after.
The second victim has since recovered.
The KwaNonqaba Police arrested the man on Monday 2 February, and he made his first court appearance the next day.
He reportedly has other charges against him in George, where he is from, including allegations of attempted murder and ex-tortion.
His identity cannot be revealed until he has pleaded to the extortion charges.
He will make his next appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on 20 March.
