GEORGE NEWS - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a vibrant musical that chronicles the life of Joseph, a dreamer blessed with the ability to interpret dreams, will be showcased at the George Arts Theatre next week. The show runs from 26 to 29 June and 3 to 6 July with evening performances, with matinée shows at 14:00 on 29 June and 6 July.
The production promises a spectacular blend of music, dance and storytelling, directed by Quintin van Biljon who has a reputation for creative brilliance when it comes to theatre productions. Last year's Grease was a solid hit and sold out weeks before the time.
"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat brings to life the Biblical story of Joseph, the favoured son with prophetic dreams, who embarks on a journey to Egypt after being sold into slavery by his brothers," says Van Biljon.
Audiences will be treated to a captivating mix of musical styles, ranging from country-western to calypso, bubble-gum pop to rock n roll. The production features popular songs like Go, Go, Go Joseph and Any Dream Will Do, performed by a young, vibrant and brilliant cast.
Tickets are available at Computicket at R150 (adults) and R120 (members and children). For information, contact the George Arts Theatre (044 873 3938), send an email to enquiries@georgeartstheatre.co.za or follow the Facebook Page.
