GEORGE NEWS - The recent community event for breast cancer survivors in the Garden Route, sponsored by Eden Oncology, was a resounding success. Held at the picturesque Dias Museum, it was an inspiring event.
Participants enjoyed a unique laughter yoga session led by Annemarie le Roux, giving everyone some positive energy.
The event featured a talk by Prof Carol Ann Benn, an international leader in breast cancer surgery.
She provided valuable information on breast cancer and women's health, likening the support from the organisation Just Breathe in Care of Cancer to the wind that keeps the Dias caravel sailing.
The day was further enriched by a standout performance from the talented Michael Lindt, whose singing added a magical touch.
The ladies of Danabaai Kunsvlyters generously sponsored handmade breast protheses and hats for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Attendees were treated to beautiful protea flowers, cupcakes, and hot chocolate and marshmallows.
The exceptional support from Dias Museum staff, particularly Jonathan and Brigitte, was instrumental in the event's success.
The community's enthusiasm and support made the day unforgettable, and organisers look forward to future events that continue to uplift and empower cancer patients across the region.
