GEORGE NEWS - The first day of school is always a special occasion, and 2025 was no exception as thousands of eager Grade 1 learners across George and surrounding areas embarked on their new journey.
Local schools buzzed with excitement as young learners arrived with new backpacks, bright smiles, and a mix of nerves and anticipation.
Parents and teachers worked together to make the day memorable, welcoming the little ones with warmth and encouragement. For many families, it was a moment of pride and joy to see their children taking the first steps toward a bright future.
Heartwarming moments were captured as the learners settled into their new classrooms and began making friends.
This milestone also marked the return of older learners who advanced to other grades, prepared to tackle the challenges of a new academic year.
