GEORGE NEWS - An elderly couple was transported to the hospital by ER24 paramedics earlier today, Thursday 26 March, following a collision on the airport road (R102) near Norgarivier Nursery.
According to an eyewitness, the couple had just left the nursery and were entering the R102 when their vehicle was struck by a bakkie.
The elderly man sustained a head injury, while his wife suffered mild injuries. Both were treated on scene before being taken to hospital for further care.
No injuries were reported among the occupants of the bakkie, and they did not require hospitalisation.
Authorities were on the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
