GEORGE NEWS - The body of a man who was reported missing was discovered near the Garden Route Dam just before midnight yesterday, Friday 12 April.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies said the deceased's family yesterday afternoon reported him as missing.
Police were dispatched to the scene after the body was found by a search party who pursued leads on the missing man.
"On arrival they found the man with a gunshot wound to the head.
"He was later declared dead by medical personnel on the scene. A firearm was also found on the scene," said Spies.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified. No foul play is suspected at this stage. Investigation continues.
