GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Captain Malcolm Pojie, the Southern Cape Police spokesperson, this morning said they, together with other law enforcement agencies, are ready for today's elections.
He said they have adequate deployment to cater for any occurrence, and that members will be deployed to strengthen visibility during and after voting day.
Pojie said, "We have reaction teams as well as Public Order Police available and on standby should any eventuality occurs".
"We have an investigating team that will investigate all incidents, should there be any, related to the election. As soon as the investigations are complete the dockets will be handed over to the Senior State Prosecutor for a decision," said Pojie.
He remained confident that the police "can deliver a safe and secure election".
