LIFESTYLE NEWS - Looking for an easy, gluten-free sandwich idea that’s as delicious as it is unique?
Meet the viral potato and cheese “bread” that’s taken the internet by storm!
This clever creation uses air fried potatoes and cheese as a substitute for traditional bread, making it perfect for those avoiding gluten. Recipe compliments of Instant Pot.
Ingredients
- 8 strips of regular cut bacon
- 2 large red potatoes
- 227 grams of mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Lettuce of your choice
- 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
- Mayonnaise, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Method
- Air fry your bacon in batches at 177°C for 8 minutes.
- While the bacon is cooking, thinly slice your potatoes. We recommend using a mandolin for efficiency and precision. Slice your tomatoes and prep your lettuce as well.
- After the bacon is finished cooking, drain the excess bacon grease from the bottom of the air fryer basket.
- Add 12 potato slices to the fryer basket, overlapping them. Season with salt and pepper, then sprinkle them with 1/4 of the shredded mozzarella.
- Air fry the potatoes in batches at 177°C for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown.
- Once they are done, remove with a spatula and flip them onto a plate, cheese side down. Spread on the mayo and stack the bacon, lettuce, and tomato.
