GEORGE NEWS - On Friday 20 July, well-known local nurseryman Morné Lochner will present a lecture entitled "Your garden - making the most of the space".
Lochner specialises in creating magnificent displays of pot plants with special emphasis on how to look after them properly. He will have some plants to highlight part of his lecture and there will be a lucky draw.
Lochner has also agreed to answer questions on plant identification and other issues. He suggests that guests bring the plants in question sealed in a plastic bag to prevent any diseases being spread.
While still an agricultural student, Lochner developed a passion for the nursery business and furthered his studies in London where he gained experience in metropolitan park gardens.
In partnership with his father-in-law, they run the Norga River Nursery and currently have over 900 species of plants in their care.
It promises to be a most interesting lecture, especially for those with green fingers. Come and enjoy a cup of tea at 10:00 and listen to the talk at 10:30 at Emmaüs in Memorium Street.
The fee is R5 for members and R10 for non-members.
