GEORGE NEWS - After the success of their week dedicated to honouring women at the beginning of August, York High School embarked on its next initiative to raise awareness of inclusivity under #ALLMYKIND last week.
"Learners were encouraged to pledge to be inclusive, thus to associate with people who were not typically their kind of person," explained teacher Lyndsey van Rensburg.
"We encouraged learners to talk to someone who was sitting alone, invite people into their group and do any random act of kindness throughout the week."
The whole school participated in this "week of kindness", organised by Maya van Zyl, Luken Brown, Siso Guga and Judy Pollicutte - all members of the school's Pastoral Panel.

Ribbons were handed out to remind the learners of being inclusive, a movie night was held at the school and the Pastoral Panel placed plants with kindness quotes randomly around the school for learners to take home.
Some joined in light yoga during break time, while others made a pledge to be inclusive.
