GEORGE NEWS - The Department of Human Settlements, under Acting Deputy Director Edwin Herandien and inconjunction with George Municipality, recently embarked on a title deed handover project.
As part of the project, beneficiaries are formally invited to attend a Housing Consumer Education (HCE) workshop, which is followed by the official handover. The HCE has been re-imagined to enable beneficiaries to understand the value of their property and ensure that their asset grows in worth and becomes the cornerstone of their family.
Part of this education is understanding the responsibilities that befall homeowners and ensuring the responsibilities are upheld.
The project aims to instil in beneficiaries the importance of neighbourhood and community and that only together will we be able to build sustainable human settlements.
