GEORGE NEWS - A forensic autopsy has started after the body of an unknown man was discovered along the Outeniqua Pass (N12) earlier this morning, Thursday 30 September.
The body was found by a passer-by and authorities were notified.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, confirmed that no foul play is suspected at this stage.
"During inspection of the body which was already in an early stage of decomposition, no signs of external wounds or injuries could be found. An identity document was also found at the body. It is suspected to be that of the deceased.
"Efforts are now being made to trace the family of the deceased, who is believed to be from Thembalethu," said Pojie.

Although no foul play is suspected, an autopsy will be performed to determine the possible cause of death.
