GEORGE NEWS - Four men allegedly assaulted a man (30) from Parkdene with a hockey stick and a bottle on Sunday 28 January in the parking area at Van der Stel Square near Club Nitro in the CBD.
According to George police's communications officer, Sergeant Michael Opperman, the men approached and attacked the victim at around 03:15 on Sunday morning.
One of the suspects assaulted him with a hockey stick and a bottle and another kicked him while he was lying on the ground.
The reason for this brutal attack is still unknown.
The victim sustained severe head injuries and is recovering in the George Hospital.
A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm is being investigated.
