GEORGE NEWS - George residents have been rejoicing since last night when the skies opened and much-needed rain kept pouring down.
A total of 34mm of rain was recorded from yesterday morning (Wednesday 16 August) until this morning, Thursday 17 August.
Level C2 water restrictions were issued earlier this month after the Garden Route Dam dropped below 45%.
The dam level was measured at 42,02% earlier this week.
According to Municipal Spokesperson Chantel Edwards-Klose, the water restrictions remain in place.
