GEORGE NEWS - To raise funds for the George Child and Family Welfare (GCFW), Fancourt will be hosting their annual Cupcake Icing Drive on Friday 6 October from 14:00 to 16:00.
The event will be hosted at Monet's restaurant, where - for a nominal fee of R10 - all are welcome to ice a cupcake for one of the GCFW children. All proceeds will benefit the charity.
Initiated in 2000 by co-owner Sabine Plattner's patronage of George Child and Family Welfare, this local NGO is still Fancourt's key focus today, and in many instances has been a lifeline for thousands of children and their families.
"Fancourt remains committed to operating in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner," says Peter Dros, head of sales and marketing at Fancourt. "The Cupcake Icing Drive is a wonderful way to do something fun with your family, while simultaneously contributing to a worthy cause."
Sponsoring the Cupcake Icing Drive is just one of Fancourt's many initiatives, as the hotel works closely with GCFW to help more children and families in the George community.
