GEORGE NEWS - Funeral arrangements for Linden Syshaar (27) of Rosemoor have been confirmed. A drive-by memorial service will be held on Thursday 22 August. The meeting point will be the lifestyle centre in Beer Street and the church service will start at the Uniting Reformed Church (VGK) in Rosemoor at 19:00.
The home funeral service will be held at his house in O'Connell Street, Rosemoor, at 08:00 on Saturday morning, 24 August, followed by a church service at 09:00 at the above mentioned church and the burial at the cemetery in York Street.
Syshaar was murdered in O'Connell Street on Sunday 11 August. According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, police officers were on patrol Sunday afternoon when they were stopped by a resident who told them of a stabbing incident.
On arrival at the scene, they found a group of people carrying the Syshaar.
He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following morning. Two suspects aged 23 and 24 were arrested shortly after the incident.
