GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Task Eden, a multi-discipline medical research site in George, wants to expand its volunteer database.
"We are looking for people who want to be part of something big," said CEO Melissa Mitchell.
"For any medication - even Panado - someone participated in a clinical trial. Be part of our medical research history and join our team of volunteers." Participation is free, and costs are covered in accordance with ethics committee requirements.
Task Eden is a dedicated research site with all expected infrastructure in place to perform studies in various therapeutic areas. These studies include cholesterol studies, pediatric asthma (ages 6 to 11 years) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
All research is approved by the South African Health Product Regulatory Authority (Sahpra) and the responsible ethics committee.
The team at Task Eden works closely with both the private and public health sector locally, including George Hospital. "Our volunteers include individuals with medical conditions and healthy volunteers," said Melissa. "We are running several Covid-19 studies; both for treatment and prevention. In addition to this, Eden is running trials in various other therapeutic focuses including heart disease, chronic kidney disease and wound care."
