BUSINESS NEWS - "The winner of this round wins a trip to Mauritius!" Excitement grows as the dice rolls on a table in the dining room of Jura Care Village, surrounded by eight elderly women and their carers. "Next round's winner gets a weekend for two in Mossel Bay!" All eyes are on the board game. One carer adjusts spectacles slipping on a face, while another helps to roll a dice.
A beautiful old lady chats on a stoep with a carer; others relax in the living room. Down the passage, at the end of the sleeping quarters, an old man stares at the sea which fills the entire horizon with a stroke of brilliant blue.
"This all was made possible with the help of our financiers, Business Partners Limited, who believed in us," said Marlene and Johan van Niekerk, owners and managers of this one-of-a-kind Alzheimer's and dementia caring facility in the heart of Hansmoeskraal, which celebrates its tenth year.
The Van Niekerks converted an old farm- house on a 1ha property into a care facility, best described as a haven for the elderly in the Garden of Eden.
Working side by side with Business Partners Limited, the couple are already expanding the living units and envision more phases in the future.
Says Henry Grobler, area manager at Business Partners Limited, "It is such an honour to help them realise this dream. I've never seen a concept quite like this."
As a leading business loan provider for viable small businesses, Business Partners Limited understands the experiences and challenges business owners face, and take more risk than most financiers.
"We are invested in seeing business owners succeed," says Grobler. Contact Business Partners Limited on 044 873 6112 or send an e-mail to HGrobler@Businesspartners.co.za
